"Life is just passing time between fishing trips."©
South Fork Anglers guide service (SFA) offers guided Float Trips, Wade Trips, and fly fishing lessons on the Rio Grande near Creede & South Fork, Colorado.
Our guide philosophy is simple: provide the highest quality guided trips on the finest waters in the region. All of our trips take place on the Rio Grande, the South Fork River or their tributaries. For a guide to truly know and understand his home waters intimately he must be on the river every day without interruption to other rivers or regions. After all, why come to this area only to spend an hour or more of 'window time' traveling to another body of water that your guide may only visit occasionally?
Whether you choose to join us for fly fishing lessons, a wade trip, a full day float, or perhaps a multi day excursion including fishing on one of our 'Private Access Ranches', we are positive that SFA can tailor an angling vacation that will suit all your needs.

Float Trips
Float trips are our absolute favorite way to fish the Rio Grande. They allow the angler to reach sections of the river not accessible by foot. On the Rio Grande private property encompasses approximately 90% of the river. SFA is the only outfitter in the region that offers float trips on the entire river including the upper, middle and lower reaches of the Rio Grande.

** Half day float trips are only available on the lower sections of river around South Fork. A full day float trip is 8 hours on the water, while a half-day is approx. 4 hours. Trip includes: guide, transportation to and from the river, gear and soft tackle (excluding leaders). Streamside lunch, and drinks provided on full day trips.
Wade Trips
Wade trips are a great way for anglers to spend more time 'working' quality water. Each season we teach hundreds of new clients the finer aspects of fly fishing. Your guide will be by your side and help you spot and stalk the elusive trout of the Rio Grande & South Fork Rivers.
We also offer wade trips to smaller streams in the area. In fact we are the only outfitter with access to the South Fork River and its tributaries. Don't assume that small streams only hold small fish. There are a lot of big trout caught while small stream fishing. Browns, rainbows, brookies and Rio Grande cutthroat can all be found in many of the small streams in which South Fork Anglers have access to. Catching all four species on the same day is called a Rocky Mountain Grande Slam, and is quite a special occasion.
Which is better? A Float Trip or Wade Trip? It simply depends on the type and style of fishing that the you prefer. For example, on float trips you can cast one time at each hole as you float by hundreds of prime fishing holes each day, or on a wade trip, you can cast 100 times at one hole. Variety is the spice of life!
