Fishing Report

At The box 190 cfs, @ WW Gap 530 cfs, @ CR 17 794 cfs. The Fork 144 cfs. The river has continued to drop even faster than I expected. Floats above WW Gap are very limited. A soft boat would be a much better choice and someone who has experience on the oars. Below the Gap is much “easier”. All the hatches are happening right now. Im not sure that is a good thing as the food source is limitless to the trout. They have been very picky through out the day. If you are able to locate exactly what they are feeding on then you should do well. Every type of stone fly, caddis and mayfly is out right now. It is how do you say, a cornucopia, a plethora of bugs. /-/-/-/-/-/-/ Due to the low water all the boats have been forced to float one of the few sections remaining. It is crowded!! You will most likely have boats around you all day. Some perhaps a bit too close. Everyone, please be polite and respect each others distance. If you were planning on dragging your boat down here this weekend, it might be a good time to visit another drainage. Especially if you are bothered by crowds. I am not saying dont come, just be aware that it will not be the Rio as you may now it. Joel Condren
